Crafted from a Bordeaux-style blend on the Tuscan coast of Castagneto Carducci, at the heart of the Bolgheri appellation, and aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, Il Seggio 2023 embodies the fresh character of the Via Bolgherese and Le Sondraie vineyards. Situated between the sea and the hills, bordering the picturesque Strada Bolgherese and Viale dei Cipressi, these vineyards the first of which, a pioneering site acquired by the estate in 2001, is one of the finest in the entire DOC combine mineral-rich soils with a maritime and Mediterranean microclimate, typical of Bolgheri. Named after the main river running through the municipality, Il Seggio offers aromas of pulpy black fruits (cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant), with notes of sweet spices resulting from its time in oak (vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon). On the palate, there is a perfect balance between supple tannins, a velvety texture and lovely acidity, which extends a toasty, juicy finish.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
