Grape profile
The wine
BOLGHERI ROSSO Le Macchiole 2022 Wine (75cl) is recorded as a 2022 other wine made from Merlot and Syrah.
Typical grape profile: Merlot — Plum, black cherry, chocolate; softer and rounder than Cabernet Sauvignon; Syrah — Blackberry, pepper, smoked meat; structured and age-worthy. The finished bottle can differ with vintage and winemaking.

The description below is the retailer’s own wording.
50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah. Youthful, lustrous crimson. Full cherry nose with hints of cassis and damson supported by a suggestion of oak. Lots of juice and fruit but not heavy-handed. A rich layer of sandy tannins becoming more muscled on the finish, so I wouldn’t try this without food. More to come with further bottle ageing. (WS)
