Alo Jais Noir is a bold, expressive Carignan Noir from the Cotes Catalanes , crafted by Maison Boutinot from old bush vines growing in the wild, sun-soaked landscapes between Corbières and the Mediterranean. Low-yielding vines and distinctive soils produce fruit of remarkable intensity and purity, vinified in stainless steel to preserve freshness and varietal clarity.
Why You'll Love It
Maison Boutinot has been exploring, crafting, and championing wines across France since 1990, and Alo Jais Noir is one of their most characterful discoveries. Winemaker Guillaume Letang ventured further south than ever before in search of exceptional Carignan, finding old bush vines that deliver naturally small yields and intensely flavoured fruit. Fermentation and ageing in stainless steel ensure purity, vibrancy, and a vivid expression of Carignan Noir free from oak influence. As Guillaume says, this is a must-taste Carignan. Vineyard and Production The old bush vines are rooted in the distinctive soils of the Cotes Catalanes, between Corbières and the Mediterranean, where the combination of low yields and intense sunshine concentrates flavour to a remarkable degree. Fermentation and ageing take place entirely in stainless steel to preserve the purity and vibrancy of the fruit.
Tasting Notes
Strikingly intense and complex on the nose, with concentrated dark fruit and a silky, enveloping mouthfeel. Understated tannins and real personality from the terroir make this a Carignan of genuine distinction.
Perfect Pairings
Perfect with duck confit or slow-cooked shoulder of lamb. For a vegetarian pairing, a hearty lentil and bean stew complements the wine's richness beautifully. Grape Varieties Carignan
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
