Calusari is produced by Cramele Recas, one of Romania's most celebrated modern wineries. Founded in 1988 when three families invested in a former state-owned estate, Recas has been transformed by Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira into a benchmark producer of Romanian Wines . This Pinot Noir is sourced entirely from the estate's Uberland Hill vineyard, where non-irrigated vines on clay and limestone-rich loam soils produce fruit of real concentration and character.
Why You'll Love It
This is Red Wine of genuine depth and complexity for the price. The combination of carbonic maceration and traditional fermentation, finished with a touch of French oak, produces a wine that is both fruit-forward and structured, with layers of dark fruit, spice and a long, lingering finish. Estate-grown and crafted with meticulous vineyard management throughout. Vineyard and Production. Grapes are 100% estate-grown from the Uberland Hill vineyard, grown on non-irrigated soils ranging from cracking clay to limestone-rich loam. Twenty-five percent of the grapes are placed whole in 1000kg bins for carbonic maceration over ten days, producing a fruity, strawberry character. The remaining 75% is destemmed, lightly crushed and fermented at 25 degrees in stainless steel. After pressing, the non-carbonic portion is lightly oaked for two months in French oak before blending with the carbonic portion.

Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
