Cantina Diomede Canace is an elegant expression of Nero di Troia, sourced from organically farmed vineyards in northern Puglia. Situated between Canosa and Acerenza, the vines grow on calcareous, rocky soils at 480 metres above sea level. The result is a structured and harmonious wine, combining ripe red fruit, spice and a velvety texture.

Why You'll Love It

This is Puglian Nero di Troia at its finest—structured, harmonious, and beautifully crafted. Cantina Diomede comprises 200 hectares of organically farmed vineyards in the hills of northern Puglia. Oenologist Dennis Verdecchia focuses on sustainable practices, manual vineyard work and careful grape selection to achieve high-quality, healthy fruit that expresses the terroir. The result is a wine with exceptional depth, complexity and authentic Puglian character.

Vineyard & Production

Vines grow on calcareous, rocky soils at 480 metres above sea level between Canosa and Acerenza, benefiting from vertical shoot positioning and Guyot training with a density of 3,500 vines per hectare. Grapes are left to partially dry on the vine to concentrate flavours. After careful hand harvesting, they undergo a 15–20 day skin maceration before fermentation at controlled temperatures using selected yeasts. Post-fermentation, the wine spends eight months in concrete tanks and 12 months in French oak barriques before bottling.

Tasting Notes

This elegant Nero di Troia displays a deep red colour with violet hints. The nose offers warm spice, cocoa, coffee, liquorice and ripe berry aromas. The palate is soft, full-bodied and velvety, with balanced acidity and a long, spicy finish.

Perfect Pairings

A versatile food wine, perfect with roasted meats, game, rich pasta dishes, aged cheeses, or hearty Italian cuisine. Also excellent with grilled meats and fine dining.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
