Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded in 2019 by Rodrigo and Asier Calvo in the Ribera del Duero wine region of Spain, Casa Lebai was born with the aim of preserving, recovering, and restoring the winemaking heritage of Gumiel de Mercado. The project was preceded by an evaluation and zoning of the Calvo family vineyards, selecting them by age and soil characteristics. Subsequently, Rodrigo and Asier also began recovering historical documents and cellar equipment from the 13th and 14th centuries. Casa Lebai La Nava is made with organically grown Albillo Mayor grapes with small additions of Valenciano Blanco, Moscatel, Palomino Fino, and Pirulés, sourced from over 80-year-old vines located at 829 meters above sea level on sandy soils with gravel patches. After harvest, fermentation takes place in concrete vats. The finished wine then ages for a year in oak barrels before bottling. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant golden color and a complex and mature aromatic profile with initial notes of white peach, melon, and dried flowers, followed by hints of Mediterranean herbs on a mineral background. On the palate, it is crisp and deep, vibrant and juicy. It has a well-defined, refreshing acidity and a long, vaguely herbaceous finish. It pairs perfectly with seafood salads and pasta with pesto.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
