Turckheim Sables et Galets Pinot Gris 2022 is a delightfully aromatic and beautifully balanced Alsace white, sourced from the Herrenweg vineyards. This expressive Pinot Gris showcases the region’s distinctive sandy and pebbly soils, delivering elegance and richness.
Production
Grapes are hand-harvested from the Herrenweg vineyards in the Fetch Valley, where glacially deposited sandy and pebbly soils create excellent drainage and minerality. Winemaker Daniel Lihrmann employs pneumatic pressing of whole grapes, temperature-controlled fermentation, no fining, and light filtration to preserve the purity of fruit, aromatics, and natural balance.
Tasting Notes
The nose offers acacia honey, quince, and delicate warm spice. On the palate, apricot, honey, and subtle sultana notes are balanced by crisp acidity, leading to a refined, pithy finish. Food match Pairs superbly with smoked salmon or chicken in richly flavoured sauces, particularly Thai or Chinese cuisine. Also excellent with smoked cheeses or a creamy Bresse Bleu. Grape 100% Pinot Gris
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
