Official geographic-register context

What the official register confirms about Champagne

BottlePicker found an exact region-name match in an official wine or spirits register. This establishes useful regional context; it does not by itself prove that this particular bottle is entitled to the designation. Check the producer label and specification for that claim.

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Serve it chilled. Founded in Mareuil-sur-Ay in 1522, the Philipponnat Maison is one of the most prestigious Champagne-producing companies in the world, universally known for its great history (it was the supplier of the King of France Louis XIV) and for the excellence of its wines. Located right in the center of the Champagne wine region, the company owns approximately 20 hectares of vineyards, including the highly prestigious Clos des Goisses. The cuvée Royale Réserve Non-Dosé is a blend of classic Champagne grapes (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier) all coming from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards located in Ay and Mareuil-sur-Ay. The cuvée involves the use of approximately 20-30% reserve wines aged in wooden barrels. After the second fermentation, the wine rests on the lees for 3 years. After disgorging, no dosage is added to maintain the pure expression of the terroir as much as possible. Perfect as an aperitif, with sushi or fish carpaccio, Philipponnat Royale Reserve Non-Dose Brut Champagne has a golden color with brilliant reflections and a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it reveals fresh aromas of hawthorn and lime blossom, hints of brioche and bread crust, citrus notes, and exotic fruit. On the palate, it has a marked minerality and a refreshing streak. The finish is long and elegant.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
