From the prestigious Sexton vineyard, located 200 metres above sea level in the heart of the Yarra Valley, Giant Steps' 2021 Chardonnay perfectly illustrates the elegance of Australia's cool climate terroir. Chardonnay. 20% of the plots underwent malolactic fermentation. The nose opens with precise aromas of ripe lemon, white peach and hazelnut, supported by a subtle buttery and smoky touch. Notes of candied lemon and grapefruit zest delicately underscore the mid-palate. With great finesse, it combines the precision of acidity and finesse characteristic of Yarra wines with remarkable aromatic concentration and phenolic complexity. Delicate barrel ageing confers complexity and depth without ever dominating the fruit. A great pure Chardonnay, chiselled and harmonious, tailor-made for fine dining.
