The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2022 brilliantly expresses the modern and rigorous vision of Arnaud Mortet, heir to the concentrated, precise and infinitely elegant style for which the estate is renowned. Produced from the finest plots of the Charmes-Chambertin climat, directly adjacent to the legendary Chambertin, this wine embodies the natural seduction and controlled power of Gevrey's greatest terroirs. The 2022 vintage, sunny yet balanced, offers a masterful interpretation here: a deep, velvety red colour, a complex nose combining ripe black fruits, violet, liquorice, truffle and subtle smoky notes. On the palate, the wine impresses with its silky density and absolutely refined tannins. Everything is there: fullness, precision and length, carried by a vibrant energy and an elegance without heaviness. The meticulously adjusted ageing process (around 70% new barrels, perfectly integrated) gives the wine a superb silkiness and aromatic complexity without masking the terroir. This Charmes-Chambertin combines the sensuality of the fruit with the integrity and purity that characterise the Mortet style: a wine that is both generous and refined, full of emotion and depth. Already sumptuous in its youth after a little decanting, it will reach its full potential after 8 to 15 years of ageing, revealing nuances of dried rose, noble undergrowth and oriental spices. At the table, it will enhance roast pigeon, beef fillet en croûte, sweetbreads or game birds.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
