The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge from Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is aged in oak, bringing out inviting aromas of red cherries and warm spices. The palate is well-structured with silky tannins, leading to a smooth, refined finish. Elegant and expressive. "...the 2020 is more serious. 2022 is more charming. The reds are like 2019, for the easy ripeness, but the structure is more like 2020. What impresses me about this vintage is the concentration.” Winemaker's notes (worldoffinewine.com) The wines from Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard have a clear purity and minerality as well as a lovely weight and richness of fruit. Céline Fontaine and her husband Fred Robert (formerly of Armand Rousseau) have over the past decade raised their stock exponentially. This is a well-regarded estate which has moved into its next epoch and with quality only on the rise, there is a lot to love about all of their wines.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
