Historical Texas label approval
3 official label approvals have the same normalised product name as this BottlePicker record. These approvals pre-date September 2021 and help check identity, stated ABV and the responsible trade name; they do not prove that the current bottle has the same formula, remains registered or is available in Texas.

A fresh and focused 2020 with blackcurrants, bark and walnut aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with very well integrated tannins and a firm and bright finish. Drinkable, but better in a year or two. The 2020 Les Grands Chênes is terrific, just as it was en primeur. Blackberry jam, gravel, incense, tobacco, scorched earth and espresso saturate the palate with remarkable depth. This deep, flavorful Médoc is a tremendous effort from Bernard Magrez and his team. My only complaint is the absurdly heavy bottle, which is completely out of touch with today's world. Nicely weighted on the palate, a good push of black cherry and plum with firm and crisp tannins giving an appealing weight. It's well balanced, not overly complex or particularly ripe and plush but this has good energy with nicely framed fruit and lots of minty, stony minerality too. A touch dry and liquorice filled on the final flavour. But nice potential for an easy drinking Médoc in a few years.
