Château Mangot Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2020 is a plush and elegant Bordeaux red, full of ripe plum and berry flavours, refined tannins, and a long, balanced finish.

Meet the Producer

Nestled in the far eastern reaches of the Saint-Émilion appellation, Château Mangot covers 37 hectares of vineyards across a patchwork of clay-limestone hillsides and a limestone plateau. With an average vine age of 40 years, the estate embraces environmentally responsible practices to nurture healthy soils and expressive fruit. This progressive family-run domaine is dedicated to producing wines that combine heritage with a modern sensibility.

Production

The vineyard is planted predominantly to Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are harvested, carefully selected, and destemmed before undergoing a cold pre-fermentation maceration. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks over four weeks, ensuring a gentle extraction of fruit and structure. Ageing follows for 13–15 months in oak barrels of different ages, with 10% of the wine remaining in stainless steel to retain freshness. The final blend is bottled 18–20 months after harvest.

Tasting Notes

Expressive aromas of bramble fruit layered with herbal notes and subtle spice. The palate is plush and velvety with ripe plum and berry flavours, fine-grained tannins, and well-integrated oak. Fresh acidity brings poise and balance to the long, elegant finish. Food Match A classic match for lamb or beef, but equally delicious alongside rich tomato-based pasta dishes or earthy mushroom recipes. Grape Varieties Merlot 80%, Cabernet Franc 15%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
