The Château Maucoil Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tradition Blanc is a refined organic white wine from the southern Rhône. Rich and full-bodied, it balances delicate citrus and floral notes with a savoury, elegant finish.
Meet the Producer
With deep roots in the Rhône Valley, Château Maucoil (pronounced moh-kwahl ) has a long and celebrated history. The estate, organically certified since 2014, is known for producing expressive wines that reflect the character of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its vineyards span sandy soils in the northwest and limestone-rich sites in the southwest, offering ideal terroirs for both red and white grape varieties.
Production
Grapes for this cuvée are harvested by hand at low yields of around 25 hl/ha and carefully sorted before vinification. A short cold maceration precedes pressing, with fermentation kept cool at 18°C. Malolactic fermentation is prevented to retain freshness, and the wine is aged in vats to showcase varietal purity and body. The wine is unfined, maintaining its natural character.
Tasting Notes
Elegant and expressive, with aromas of lemon, bruised apple and hints of honeysuckle. The palate is round and luscious, yet shows a lovely restraint typical of Château Maucoil, finishing long and savoury with perfect balance. Food Match A versatile partner for rich cuisine. Pairs beautifully with shellfish, grilled salmon, or veal cutlets served with chanterelle mushrooms. Grape Varieties Grenache Blanc 90%, Bourboulenc 8%, Clairette 2%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
