The Château Maucoil Rouge is a top-quality, single estate organic Côtes-du-Rhône Villages. Full-bodied and exuberant, it brims with ripe black cherry, bramble and sweet spice, balanced by fresh acidity for a long, juicy finish.

Meet the Producer

With a history rooted deep in the Rhône Valley, Château Maucoil (pronounced moh-kwahl ) is based in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and is one of the most historic and respected organic producers in the region. Its vineyards, planted with old vines on sandy and pebble-strewn soils, benefit from the same terroir as neighbouring Châteauneuf-du-Pape, giving remarkable concentration and character to the wines.

Production

Hand-harvested grapes are carefully sorted berry by berry before vinification. A blend of Grenache Noir (50%), Syrah (25%) and Mourvèdre (25%), each variety and parcel is fermented separately. After around 25 days of traditional maceration with pumping over, rack-and-return, and gentle punching down, the wine is aged in vats until bottling.

Tasting Notes

A bold, powerful southern Rhône red. Aromas of ripe black fruits, bramble and sweet spice lead to a palate of black cherry, dried fruit and juicy freshness. Full-bodied yet balanced, with a long and satisfying finish. Food Match Perfect with grilled meats – from lamb chops to chargrilled steak – or hearty Mediterranean dishes. Grape Varieties Grenache Noir 50%, Syrah 25%, Mourvèdre 25%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
