The 2018 vintage began with abundant precipitation, including 355mm of rain and snow in January, followed by 162mm in February, which enriched the vineyard soils. March and April brought lighter rainfall, while a mid-April temperature increase encouraged vine growth. Blooming in May and June was well-supported with 52mm and 32mm of rain, setting the stage for a promising harvest. July brought hot, dry conditions with temperatures averaging 35°C, followed by a brief heatwave in August reaching 39–40°C. Cinsault was harvested on 4 September, exhibiting unusually high sugar levels, highlighting the vintage’s uniqueness and the impact of changing climatic conditions. Grape Varietals A balanced blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan.

Winemaking

Each varietal was fermented using natural yeasts in concrete vats, then aged for 12 months in French Nevers oak barrels before blending in January 2021. Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested and fermented first, followed by careful monitoring of Cinsault and Carignan fermentations to manage residual sugars. Malolactic fermentation for Cinsault and Carignan extended three months beyond the initial harvest, reflecting the delicate nature of this vintage. The wine was bottled without fining or filtration in July and August 2021.

Tasting Notes

Deep garnet in colour, with aromas of dried cherries and mature red fruits. The palate is rich and concentrated, revealing cranberries, raisins, and dates, complemented by fine tannins and balanced acidity. Subtle smoky and dusty fruit notes, with soft liquorice undertones, provide complexity. At six years of age upon release, this vintage is already developed and mature. Food Matching Ideal with roasted or grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. Technical Details Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Carignan

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
