Chêne Marchand is one of the great territoirs of Sancerre, and we'd like to see wines from them more often and more importantly recognise their rightful value. This is absolutely the case with this selection of old vine wine that has been enhanced by just the right ageing to highlight the virtues of Sauvignon from this ancient territoir. On the nose, it has aromas of the most complex Sauvignon wines giving a rarely found finessed expression, with candied citron, honeysuckle and white pepper. This vintage has an airy texture on the palate that's crystalline and sleek. Despite it being so young, the oak is almost imperceptible and makes the wine classy. Introduce your palate to the grandeur of the finest Sancerre.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
