A standout in the Mazzei range, the Chianti Classico Fonterutoli is produced by vinifying the different plots of Castello di Fonterutoli, the historic vineyard of this great Tuscan estate, separately. Grown on a unique mosaic of limestone soils and microclimates, at altitudes ranging from 220 to 570 metres in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, the Fonterutoli cuvée offers all the characteristics of a very fine Chianti Classico. Made primarily from Sangiovese, blended with 10% Malvasia Nera and Colorino, then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, the 2022 vintage is fresh, smooth and well-balanced. With a beautiful ruby-red colour, it showcases black fruits and fresh spices, with varietal herbaceous and earthy notes. On the palate, its velvety structure and silky tannins, combined with a touch of acidity, lend it elegance and harmony. The lingering, expressive finish will win over both connoisseurs and wine lovers alike. A true classic of its kind, the jewel in the Mazzei family's crown!
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
