The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Castello Fonterutoli" embodies the very essence of the Castello di Fonterutoli estate. Produced from the vineyards of Castellina in Chianti, planted at an altitude of 470 metres on a soil of alberese and limestone, rich in texture, the Gran Selezione Castello Fonterutoli benefits from a balanced microclimate, between the coolness of the valleys and the warm currents of the Val d'Elsa valley below. A terroir and conditions particularly favourable to the 2021 vintage, which stands out for its excellent quality. Produced in a limited run of just 47,000 bottles and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (finished in concrete vats), this single-varietal Sangiovese offers a perfect balance between bouquet, roundness and liveliness. On the nose and on the palate, the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello Fonterutoli 2021 offers a clear and highly elegant structure, a full-bodied texture, fine tannins and a vibrant heart of red fruit (cherry), with hints of flowers and sandalwood. Subtle mineral notes highlight the fruit's generosity, leading to a long, lingering and juicy finish. A wine at the forefront of quality.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
