The description below is the retailer’s own wording.
Produced from Piccini’s historic vineyards in Castellina in Chianti (in the province of Siena, Tuscany), the Chianti Riserva DOCG Collezione Oro is made from the finest Sangiovese grapes, blended with 10 per cent Cabernet. After each grape variety is vinified separately and undergoes a long maceration, the wine is aged predominantly in oak casks (with 30 per cent in barriques). The result is a bouquet with aromas of blackberry and vanilla, enhanced by a hint of sweet spices. On the palate, its harmonious, warm and juicy character comes into its own, underpinned by a generous core of red fruit and a mature, well-integrated tannic structure. Combining power and elegance, complexity and approachability, this excellent Chianti is the ideal companion for a rich, gourmet dish. Enjoyable now, it will keep for a few years.
