Source-supplied bottle description

Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona Toscana Rosso is made from Sangiovese Grosso sourced from the youngest vineyard plots near those dedicated to Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. The vineyards are planted on medium-grained soils with good levels of marl, dating from the Eocene period, at an altitude of 240 to 360 metres above sea level. This versatile wine is designed for approachable, everyday drinking, combining body, softness, and balance.

Meet the Producer

Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona is a historic estate in Montalcino, renowned for its tradition of Sangiovese cultivation and for producing wines that reflect the elegance and structure of their terroir while remaining accessible and food-friendly.

Production

The Sangiovese Grosso grapes are harvested from the younger plots, then fermented in stainless steel vats with temperature control via cooling jackets. The wine undergoes refinement in concrete vats to preserve freshness and texture, resulting in a harmonious and full-bodied expression.

Tasting Notes

The wine displays a ruby-red colour. On the palate, it is fruity with subtle herbal notes and hints of spice. Soft, well-balanced, and full-bodied, it offers a rounded, harmonious finish. Food Match Serve slightly below room temperature. This wine pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes, particularly meat-based courses, cured meats, and cheeses. Grape Sangiovese Grosso 100%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
