Official US label evidence

Historical Texas label approval

4 official label approvals have the same normalised product name as this BottlePicker record. These approvals pre-date September 2021 and help check identity, stated ABV and the responsible trade name; they do not prove that the current bottle has the same formula, remains registered or is available in Texas.

Matched by exact normalised product name; no label artwork is copied. Source: Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission approved labels (opens in a new tab) via the Texas Open Data Portal. The portal does not specify a reuse licence for third-party label artwork, so BottlePicker links to the official PDF and publishes attributed factual extraction only. No state endorsement is implied.

Read the retailer’s description

The description below is the retailer’s own wording.

Drink now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant before serving. Bursting ripe, jammy fruit and a well-built structure, this powerful wine is sure to please lovers of big bold Californian reds.

The Blend

is dominated by Petite Sirah along with smaller quantities of Alicante Bouschet, Carignane, and Grenache sourced from Cline’s Contra Costa County vineyards. Conditions there are ideal for crafting punchy reds thanks to the warm conditions and limited rainfall which helps concentrate flavours in the grapes. Each batch of grapes is harvested separately when they reach optimal maturity and are also vinified separately using wild yeasts. The young wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 8 months to add polish and subtle spiced notes to the finished wine. The result is a spicy red with plenty of intense dark fruit character, firm tannins, and a generous full body which will respond well to extended cellaring. The Cline family have been pioneers in southern California for several decades and have led the way in sustainability by embracing solar energy and natural solutions in the vineyard. They are proud to be a Certified California Sustainable Vineyard and Winery and have introduced a variety of practices including a 2000-strong herd of sheep and goats to remove weeds from the vineyards and enough solar panels to power the entire winery.
