"100% destemmed this year, Jane made only four barrels rather than her usual ten and used no new oak. Inky blue and red berries nose, with a touch of Christmas spice. Pure and focussed on the palate, packed with bright red fruits, that form a supple pastille core. No lack of depth or weight here. A great start to the line-up." Tom Harrow, Head Wine Guru Jane observes that " a year in a barrel does amazing things ". The very concentrated 2020s (" like Barossa shiraz " she quips) have softened and developed brighter perfumes and elegance, and the lighter 2021s have fleshed out, increasing in intensity and are " matier " or more substantial. " They needed time to grow " which provides even more excitement for this tight and fragrant 2021 vintage. Jane draws the comparison with 2007, a lighter weight vintage which initially went under the radar but has aged extremely well and rather longer than was expected, now providing very fine and harmonious drinking across a number of domaines.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
