Solara Rose is a lively, expressive Romanian Pinot Noir rose from Cramele Recas, one of Romania's most celebrated modern wineries. Founded in 1988 and transformed by Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, Recas combines meticulous vineyard management with modern facilities to produce wines of real character and consistency. Grapes are hand-harvested from three distinct vineyard sites, ensuring careful selection and optimal ripeness.

Why You'll Love It

This is Dry Rose Wine of genuine vibrancy and freshness. The careful saignee method and low-temperature fermentation preserve the natural fruit character of the Pinot Noir, producing a wine that is crisp, zesty and endlessly refreshing. Organically farmed and offering outstanding quality and value for a hand-harvested Romanian rose. Vineyard and Production. Grapes are hand-harvested from the Dealul Tiganului, Odobesti and Murfatlar vineyards. The fruit is destemmed and lightly crushed, then chilled to 8 degrees for an eight-hour maceration. Twenty percent of the juice from each tank is drained for rose, after which the must is decanted for 24 hours and inoculated with selected yeasts. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, temperature-controlled tanks for four weeks at 12 degrees. To retain a rounded, fresh character, fermentation is halted by cooling to 0 degrees, leaving a residual sugar of 4.5g/l.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
