Cellar for up to 15 years. Decant for an hour before serving. Aux Réas is A.F. Gros’ signature wine, a complex, medium- to full-bodied Pinot Noir with a deep core of red fruits. It is a deep ruby in the glass, exhibiting an elegant bouquet of sour red cherries, wild raspberries, and violets, with hints of gravel and Burgundy earth. It was sourced from the prestigious Vosne-Romanée appellation, the winemaking homeland of the Gros family. A.F. Gros is one of three Gros family wineries located within the renowned region of Vosne-Romanee, established in 1988 when it was handed down by Jean Gros to his daughter Anne-Francoise. These days it is run by her children, who source their grapes from 11 hectares of ideal Pinot Noir-growing soil, and vinify their wines in the appellation of Beaune. Aux Réas is wound around a core of ripe red fruits - look for notes of cranberry, raspberry, and cherry, with hints of liquorice and forest floor as the wine opens up. It shows an excellent structure, and is consistently one of the greatest wines in the A.F. Gros range. Finely grained, grippy tannins and balanced acidity lead into a satisfying finish with a cleansing minerality. Aux Réas will be a superb partner for roasted game, poultry, aged cheeses, or a charcuterie board.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
