The Domaine Berthelemot Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Sous Frétille is a richly flavoured, organic white Burgundy with ripe citrus, warm vanilla aromas, and a generous, well-balanced palate. Full-bodied yet elegant, it finishes long and refined.
Meet the Producer
Domaine Berthelemot, established in 2006, was created from the merging of mature holdings in Pernand-Vergelesses. A young and dynamic domaine, it focuses on organic viticulture and meticulous Burgundian winemaking to express the purity and character of its Premier Cru vineyards.
Production
The Sous Frétille vineyard, a 1er Cru for whites since 2001, sits on the slope of the 'mountain' of Frétille adjacent to the hill of Corton. The soil is mainly limestone, and the 67 ares of south-facing vines benefit from full sun at this higher altitude. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented slowly in temperature-controlled oak barrels (25% new), and aged on their lees with batonnage performed according to tasting until June following the vintage.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of ripe citrus and warm vanilla lead to a full-flavoured, generous palate with fine balance, subtle richness, and a long, elegant finish. Food Match Pairs beautifully with roast chicken, delicate fish dishes, or creamy poultry preparations, highlighting the wine’s richness and finesse. Grape Varieties Chardonnay 100%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
