Domaine Lathevalle Morgon is a refined and expressive Morgon from one of Beaujolais’ top hilltop vineyards. With supple tannins, dense red fruit, and layered complexity, it captures the elegance of Burgundy while retaining the vibrant charm of Beaujolais.
Meet the Producer
Situated in the eastern part of the Beaujolais cru of Morgon, the producer works with two lauded hilltop vineyards: La Côte de Py and Les Charmes. The focus is on reasoned viticulture and traditional methods that allow the unique terroir of Morgon to shine through in every bottle.
Production
The Les Charmes vineyard, one of the most prestigious lieux-dits in Morgon, sits on sandy, granitic soils with a south-east exposure. Gamay vines aged 35–60 years are hand-harvested into 20kg boxes, sorted on a vibrating table, and vinified in concrete vats using wild yeasts. The wine is aged for six months and lightly filtered before bottling to preserve its natural character.
Tasting Notes
A serious and complex Morgon with depth and structure. Aromas and flavours of ripe red fruits are complemented by subtle earthy notes, with supple tannins and a smooth, elegant finish. Still approachable, yet built for ageing. Food Match Perfect with Boeuf Bourguignon, roasted leg of lamb, or a charcuterie board. Also pairs beautifully with semi-soft cheeses such as Livarot or Saint-Marcellin. Grape Varieties Gamay 100%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
