Retained as supporting identification copy; the structured facts and evidence links above are kept separate.
A rich, brambly red from Rasteau, showing full-bodied character without being overbearing. This wine combines Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan to deliver a balance of fruit intensity, earthy depth, and elegant tannins.
Meet the Producer
Domaine Les Évigneaux, led by Bénédicte Bonnet, is a small but highly regarded estate covering 10 hectares in Rasteau. Their approach respects the diversity of the appellation, blending grapes from multiple plots to create wines with both power and finesse.
Production
The grapes are grown across fifteen plots in Rasteau, with terroir-specific planting: Grenache on lower pebble terraces for warmth and character, and Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan on clay-chalk and sandy hillsides for finesse. The wine is 100% destemmed, fermented and macerated for 28 days with pumping over and rack & return. It is aged for 12 months in new 228L Burgundy barrels and clay amphorae.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, it shows blackcurrant, raspberry, and a subtle hint of vanilla. The palate combines juicy fruit with meaty, savoury notes, supported by robust yet integrated tannins. The wine is ready to drink now but can cellar for 3–5 years.
Food Pairing
It pairs beautifully with beef stew or slow-cooked red meats, hard, strong cheeses, grilled vegetables, and festive treats like Christmas cake. Grape Composition: Grenache 60%, Syrah 30%, Carignan 10%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
