Domaines Ott Clos Mireille Rose Coeur de Grain is one of Provence's most iconic and distinctive roses, produced from a remarkable 170-hectare estate that borders the sea near Fort de Bregancon, the French President's summer retreat, in the Cotes de Provence appellation. Rich, structured and beautifully complex, this is Provence rose at its most serious and rewarding.
Why You'll Love It
Acquired by Domaines Ott in 1935 and entirely remodelled and replanted in the 1930s, Clos Mireille is a truly singular vineyard, blessed with a seaside atmosphere and a microclimate permeated with sea spray. Of the estate's 47 hectares of vines, the parcels used for this rose slope down as far as the sea itself, giving the wine a distinctive coastal freshness and mineral character that sets it apart from any other Provence rose. Coeur de Grain is the estate's flagship expression, and one of the most celebrated roses in the world.
Vineyard & Production
The vines are pruned and trained using the double cordon method across parcels levelled into espaliers for even tilling and planting. Grapes are hand-picked and undergo highly selective sorting before an extremely delicate pressing process at low pressure. Fermentation takes place in thermo-regulated vats, followed by ageing in oak casks and vats for 6 to 8 months. Bottled in spring.
Tasting Notes
Peach colour with crystalline highlights. A suave nose of white-fleshed fruit leads to a beautiful, rich and full palate with harmonious balance, perfectly poised between fresh fruit vivaciousness and generous richness. Lingering notes of peach and nectarine on the finish.
Perfect Pairings
A superb partner for grilled lobster, sea bass, langoustines and fine seafood dishes. Also excellent with roasted chicken, soft cheeses and Mediterranean sharing plates, or simply enjoyed as a special occasion aperitif.
The Blend
Grenache 50%, Cinsault 40%, Syrah 10%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
