The description below is the retailer’s own wording.

Perched at an altitude of over 300 metres, at the very top of the Chassagne hillside, La Grande Montagne is one of those little-known sites that shape Burgundy's great wines. Nestled in the heart of an unspoilt setting and accessible via a discreet dirt track, this small plot offers the Chardonnay ideal conditions to express the full nobility of its terroir. Vinified in the purest Burgundian tradition, then aged for several months in oak barrels—a significant proportion of which are new—this Premier Cru brilliantly combines richness and precision. The nose opens with delicate notes of fresh butter, acacia honey, vanilla and almond, enhanced by a subtle hint of aniseed. On the palate, the wine captivates with its volume and enveloping character, quickly balanced by a taut, crystalline mineral backbone that lends depth and energy. This cuvée embodies everything that makes the great Chassagne-Montrachets so charming: generous body, perfectly preserved freshness and that salty finish that lingers long after the tasting. It is just as at home today with roast lobster, fine shellfish or a mature goat's cheese, as it is after a few years in the cellar, where it will gain even greater complexity and depth.
