Acquired and renovated by Baron Benjamin de Rothschild in 2003, Château des Laurets is located on the Puisseguin limestone plateau, not far from Montagne St Emilion, on one of the most beautiful terroirs of the region, capable of guaranteeing the best expression of Merlot. Thanks to his enormous experience, Baron Rothschild has been able to grasp the enormous potential of the Chateau des Laurets vineyard, producing this exceptional wine only in the best years and from selected plots of Merlot. The grapes are selected and harvested by hand and then subjected to cold pre-fermentation maceration and vinification in wooden vats. The Baron Selection Parcellaire is a powerful wine that expresses all the typicity and character of the best Bordeaux Merlot. It shows a deep and dense color with purple tones. The nose reveals a broad and intense aromatic profile with notes of ripe cherry, dark fruits, and hints of wood. On the palate, it is characterful, elegant, and harmonious, with a delicious concentration of fruit and velvety tannins. The finish is long and recalls light-toasted notes. It can rest in the cellar for a few years, but if you can’t resist opening a bottle, serve it with roast lamb.
