Torre Mora’s Cauru Rosso combines the freshness of mountain wines (the vines are planted at an altitude of between 600 and 700 metres) with the ‘warmth’ of the volcanic soil (‘cauru’ in Sicilian). Made predominantly from Nerello Mascalese, an extraordinary indigenous grape variety, blended with a touch of Nerello Cappuccio, this Etna Rosso DOC, with its brilliant ruby red colour, offers a complex, fragrant and lively nose, with notes of raspberry, cherry, violet and date. On the palate, it is crisp and well-structured, revealing the freshness and minerality typical of volcanic soils. Juicy flavours of jammy cherry, raspberry, citrus and pomegranate unfold in an elegant mouthfeel, supported by a fine tannic structure and refreshing acidity. The finish is long, vibrant and briny, reflecting all the energy of Mount Etna.
