Source-supplied bottle description

Giovanni Rosso's Etna Rosso 2020 comes from the north/north-east slopes of the volcano, from the Montedolce vineyard planted in 1975. Made primarily from Nerello Mascalese, supplemented by small plots of local grape varieties, it reflects all the finesse of Etna's great reds. The grapes are harvested at full ripeness in mid-October, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks for around 10 days, with pumping over to gently extract structure and fruit. Ageing in French oak barrels adds complexity and ensures the tannins are well integrated. The nose is refined and deep, blending Mediterranean citrus, violet, bergamot, wet stone and forest notes. On the palate, the wine is juicy, supported by delicate tannins, vibrant acidity and a clean, savoury finish. An elegant, taut and highly food-friendly red, ideal with characterful dishes such as fillet of beef or mushrooms.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
