Montecalvo Falanghina Benevento is a fresh, vibrant expression of this classic southern Italian grape, produced in its traditional heartland of Benevento in Campania . Crafted from 100% Falanghina grown on hillside vineyards at 300 to 400 metres altitude, this white wine balances tropical fruit character with citrus brightness and mineral freshness in a clean, appealing style that is ideal for both everyday enjoyment and authentic Italian food pairings.

Why You'll Love It

Montecalvo is a large cooperative founded in 1960, now counting around 1,000 members cultivating 1,800 hectares of vineyards across Campania. With deep roots in the region, the cooperative is dedicated to preserving tradition while producing high-quality wines that showcase Campania's indigenous varieties. Falanghina is one of southern Italy's most celebrated white grapes, an ancient variety with a history stretching back to Roman times, prized for its naturally high acidity, aromatic freshness, and ability to produce wines of real character and drinkability.

Vineyard & Production

Falanghina vines are Guyot-trained and grow at 300 to 400 metres altitude on limestone and clay soils in Benevento. Harvest takes place in the second half of September. Grapes are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel for 10 days at controlled temperatures. No malolactic fermentation is carried out, preserving the wine's natural crispness, purity, and aromatic freshness. 12.5% ABV.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of ripe lemon, apple, and honeysuckle on the nose, with lightly tropical notes of pineapple and candied peel. The palate is juicy and fresh, with bright citrus fruit, hints of white spice, and a refreshing mineral finish.

Perfect Pairings

Perfect with aubergine Parmigiana, gnocchi with pancetta, spinach and Parmesan, or a simple Caprese salad with Buffalo Mozzarella. Also excellent with seafood, grilled fish, and light pasta dishes. Grape Varieties Falanghina 100%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
