La Bien Plantá is a tender, elegant red wine from the DO Almansa in Spain , crafted from 100% Garnacha Tinta cultivated organically and biodynamically at approximately 700 metres altitude by Bodegas Juan Gil. Delicate, pure, and fresh in style, it has been described as Spain's answer to Pinot Noir , and it is not hard to see why.

Why You'll Love It

The Gil family have been producers in Jumilla since the early 20th century, but La Bien Plantá represents a very different side of south-east Spanish winemaking. Where the region is better known for powerful, sun-drenched reds, this high-altitude, organically and biodynamically farmed Garnacha delivers something altogether more refined and unexpected: a wine of purity, delicacy, and aromatic lift that challenges every assumption about what Garnacha from this part of Spain can be. Winemaker Bartolomé Abellán has crafted a genuinely new-wave expression that rewards curious drinkers.

Vineyard & Production

Garnacha Tinta vines are cultivated organically and biodynamically at approximately 700 metres altitude in the DO Almansa, where the high elevation moderates the heat of south-east Spain and preserves the natural freshness and aromatic intensity that define this wine. Organic and biodynamic farming ensures the health of the soil and the purity of the fruit, with no synthetic inputs used in the vineyard. Vegan.

Tasting Notes

Delicate aromas of berry fruit with floral notes on the nose. The palate is elegant and fresh, with red and black fruits giving juicy acidity and savoury characters balanced by soft, supple, and persistent tannins. A wine of real purity and finesse.

Perfect Pairings

Excellent with vegetable and mushroom pasta dishes, pork sausages, and grilled meats. Also a natural partner for roasted chicken, charcuterie, and light lamb dishes. Grape Varieties Garnacha 100%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
