Ferghettina Milledi is a stunning vintage Franciacorta made entirely from Chardonnay, crafted with precision and aged for 1,000 days on its lees to achieve remarkable depth and finesse. Presented in Ferghettina’s distinctive square-sided bottle, designed by Matteo Gatti to optimise lees contact, this wine exemplifies both innovation and tradition in Italy’s most prestigious sparkling wine region. It offers freshness, elegance, and textural complexity that make it a true rival to Champagne.

Meet the Producer

Italian sparkling wine is not all about Prosecco. The Gatti family of Ferghettina has been at the forefront of Franciacorta for decades, managing 120 hectares of vineyards across six communes. Their dedication to meticulous vineyard management and precise winemaking has placed them among the region’s most respected producers.

Production

Produced exclusively from Chardonnay, Milledi is made using only the finest first-press juice from gently pneumatic-pressed grapes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at 16–18°C, with each vineyard parcel vinified separately and blended after careful tasting the spring following harvest. The secondary fermentation occurs in bottle, followed by 36 months of lees ageing, creating the refined complexity that defines Milledi.

Tasting Notes

Fresh, floral aromas of white blossom and citrus lead into a palate layered with brioche, crisp apple, and citrus fruit. The texture is elegant yet weighty, with a fine, persistent mousse that underlines its sophistication and length. Food Match Superb with grilled fish or poultry, sushi, or as an elegant aperitif. Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
