Official geographic-register context

What the official register confirms about Priorat

BottlePicker found an exact region-name match in an official wine or spirits register. This establishes useful regional context; it does not by itself prove that this particular bottle is entitled to the designation. Check the producer label and specification for that claim.

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Founded in the early 2000s by wine-loving friends Sergi Ferrer-Salat and Raül Bobet, Ferrer Bobet is a Spanish winery located in the Porrera area of Priorat. Ferrer Bobet Vinyes Velles is a red blend of Carignan and Garnacha Tinta grapes sourced from centuries-old vineyards planted on typical slate soils (locally known as licorella) and cultivated without the use of insecticides and fungicides. The vineyards, located on steep slopes in the highest and coolest areas of Priorat, enjoy a microclimate characterized by strong temperature variations between day and night, favoring the development of lively acidity and a pronounced aromatic character. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place in a mix of steel and wood, and the finished wine then ages for 15 months in French oak barrels and an additional 11 months in bottle before release. In the glass, the wine reveals a bright cherry-red color. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant with notes of blackberry and plum, followed by hints of aromatic herbs and spicy touches. On the palate, it is fruity, juicy, fresh, and mineral, with a firm structure and a silky texture. It is elegant and concentrated. The tannins are soft, and the finish is long and complex. Try it with pork chops or herb-roasted lamb.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
