Exclusively planted for Foxen in 1996 by Bien Nacido Vineyard, the eleven-acre Block 8 sits on the highest point and one of the steepest sections of this Santa Maria Bench vineyard. A combination of bright, snappy cherry aromas and peppery herbs make for a compelling nose on this block-designated bottling. The palate is tense in texture yet generous in flavors of rounded red plum and toasted sagebrush. A live wire wine, with racy damson plum and red currant coulis notes that keep a steady pulse through the minerally, sanguine-edged finish. Lengthy and precise. Drink now through 2031. The 2020 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 is bright, punchy and super-expressive. There's a real feeling of exuberance, mostly the result of a mix of numerous clones planted in this block. A rush of red/purplish fruit, lavender, mint, sage and rose petal lends notable exuberance throughout. There's plenty of immediacy and textural resonance here.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
