Vallet Frères (also known as Bouré Père et Fils) is one of Burgundy's most quietly revered grower-négociants, combining estate ownership with carefully selected grower partnerships built over many years. The family own the entire single vineyard of Clos de la Justice in Gevrey-Chambertin, as well as holdings in Beaune Épenottes Premier Cru and Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru — a portfolio that speaks for itself.

Why You'll Love It

This is Gevrey-Chambertin as it should be — complex, fine, and unmistakably itself. Vallet Frères represent everything we are proud to be associated with: meticulous attention to detail, rigorous grape selection, and an unwavering passion for producing wines of genuine character. Their Pinot Noir is old-fashioned in the best possible sense — complete, harmonious, and possessed of real finesse. As Louis Vallet himself puts it: "Flashy flavours and aromas are not what great wine is about. The most important element of greatness is 'origine' — is the wine complete? Is it harmonious? Is it fully itself? Does it have finesse?" Three Michelin-star chef Gordon Ramsay is a fan, having selected five Vallet wines for his restaurant wine lists.

Vineyard & Production

Clos de la Justice is a monopole vineyard owned entirely by the Vallet family, situated in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy. The estate works with close attention to terroir, selecting only the finest fruit and vinifying with the restraint and precision that defines great Burgundy. Bernard and Jean-Christophe Vallet continue the philosophy established by their father Louis — prioritising origin, harmony, and finesse above all else.

Tasting Notes

Classic Gevrey-Chambertin character: a complex, layered nose of dark cherry, earthy sous-bois, and subtle spice, leading onto a refined, structured palate with silky tannins and a long, elegant finish. A wine that develops beautifully in bottle and rewards patience.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
