A beautifully pure and naturally sweet late-harvest Gewurztraminer, perfectly balanced by bright, refreshing acidity. This is Alsace at its most expressive, offering richness, charm and striking aromatics in a compact 50cl format. Producer Cave de Turckheim is widely recognised as one of the world’s finest co-operatives, renowned for meticulous vineyard management and exceptionally consistent quality. Sitting at the mouth of the Munster Valley, the winery works closely with growers across prime Alsatian terroirs to craft wines that truly reflect their origin.
Production
Vendanges Tardives (late harvest) wines are only produced in outstanding years. Extended periods of dry weather allow the grapes to slowly desiccate on the vine, intensifying flavour and natural sugar levels. No chaptalisation or acidification is permitted, so the sweetness and balance are entirely derived from naturally concentrated grapes grown on granite and gravel soils.
Tasting Notes
A savoury, gently earthy nose than previous years. The palate is bright and sweet, with orange blossom, delicate citrus peel and subtle spice. Lively lemony acidity brings freshness, leading to a sweet, slightly pithy, well-defined finish.
Food Pairing
Superb with fruit-based puddings such as Bakewell tart, apple crumble, or pear frangipane. It also complements rich, gently spiced dishes (avoiding high chilli heat). For something more indulgent, it’s excellent with chocolate brownie and salted butter. Technical Details Grape: Gewurztraminer 100%
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
