The Graham family began producing Port in the Douro Valley in 1820, and today the name Graham’s is synonymous with excellence in fortified wine. Now under the stewardship of the Symington family, Graham’s sources fruit from five renowned quintas, including the privately owned Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas. These estates contribute to the depth, structure, and elegance that define Graham’s Ports. Viticulture Quinta da Vila Velha occupies a privileged position on the south bank of the Douro River. The 145-hectare estate includes 55 hectares of vines, restored and cultivated over three decades by the late James Symington. The vineyard’s varied topography and riverside microclimate produce balanced, expressive fruit that forms the backbone of Graham’s finest blends.

Winemaking

The Six Grapes ‘Special Vila Velha Edition’ is a limited release crafted exclusively from grapes grown at Vila Velha. Winemaker Charles Symington selected the finest lots, blending Touriga Nacional (56%), Touriga Franca (36%), and Alicante (8%). The wine is aged to preserve its vibrant fruit character and structural finesse, echoing the style of young Vintage Port. Tasting Note Deeply aromatic with notes of pine resin, eucalyptus, and wild rock rose. Rich black fruits dominate the palate—blackberry and blackcurrant—layered with dark chocolate and mocha. Concentrated, rounded, and elegant, with a streak of acidity that lifts the finish. Food Matching Ideal with rich dark chocolate desserts, aged cheeses, or simply enjoyed on its own at the end of a meal. Technical Details Varieties: Touriga Nacional 56%, Touriga Franca 36%, Alicante 8%

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
