Clos Roareti Rosso Veronese IGT is crafted from Merlot vines planted on a historic plot of the family’s estate, purchased in 1810, and surrounded by ancient walls. The vineyard’s deep clay-sandy soil, rich in limestone, magnesium, iron, and zinc, and excellent south-west exposure with north-south row orientation create ideal conditions for producing concentrated, healthy grapes. A precise viticulture programme ensures low yields and optimal grape quality. The vineyard spans 2 hectares, with yields of around 5,000 per hectare, producing between 6,666 and 16,666 bottles per year.
Meet the Producer
Clos Roareti reflects the family’s dedication to producing limited, high-quality Merlot. The Merlot variety was chosen for its adaptability to the Veneto climate and the red clay soil, and the wine is only made in years when the grapes achieve peak ripeness.
Production
Grapes are hand-selected before machine harvest. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel vats with de-stemmed grapes, followed by malolactic fermentation for 10 days at 25–30°C. The wine is then aged for 12 months in 225-litre oak barriques, 25% of which are new oak, to integrate the flavours and structure.
Tasting Notes
Clos Roareti displays a concentrated and layered profile, offering intense dark berry fruit supported by fine oak. The wine is harmonious and well-balanced, with depth and complexity that develop favourably with time. Food match Ideal with wild boar, venison, prime roast beef, meaty stews, and mature cheeses. Grape Merlot 100% Food match Best served slightly chilled at around 16°C (60°F), Clos Roareti pairs beautifully with roast game, rack of lamb, or fillet mignon.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
