At Yquem, more than anywhere else, the precision of the harvest determines the wine's greatness. It required juggling the weather, possessing a vineyard large enough to allow for meticulous attention to detail, and a willingness to take risks. Thanks to this, Sandrine Garbay, the estate's oenologist, has been able to craft a wine of great classicism, undoubtedly one of the most accomplished of this decade. A bouquet as subtle as it is complex yellow fruits, candied orange, lemon zest, brioche, a hint of vanilla is complemented by a palate of extreme elegance and a balance verging on perfection. The attack is soft and full-bodied, the development silky and delicate, offering a very fine texture and, the hallmark of the vintage, a remarkable freshness that lends the whole an airy quality and infinite length. A prima ballerina.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
