The Montée de Tonnerre is new to the Julien Brocard line up starting in the 2020 vintage. Julien began converting this site to biodynamic agriculture in 2017 and 2020 is the first year that it was certified biodynamic by Demeter. Montée de Tonnerre is to the right of the valley of the grand crus and Julien considers it the most complete premier cru, a wine with a perfect convergence of minerality, floral notes, and richness. Fermented and aged in neutral foudres. From the central Montée de Tonnerre sector. There is a fresh green tint to the colour, fresh ripe plums on the nose, fine intensity, complex, with lots going on, and the wood supports the fruit well. Significant concentration in all departments promises very well. Barrel sample: 92-94 Deep, pure and focused, with aromas of minerals, seashells, green citrus and iodine. Quite bright and expressive, with a medium to full body and a long, rounded finish that shows the generosity of the vintage.

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
