A classic 10-year-old Tawny Port, showcasing the richness and elegance of wood-aged Ports. This wine offers a perfect balance of nutty, caramel, and dried fruit flavours with a smooth, mellow texture that reflects its extended ageing in oak casks.
Meet the Producer
Wiese & Krohn was founded in 1865 by two Norwegians, Theodor Wiese and Dankert Krohn, initially shipping wine to Scandinavia. Today, the house continues its long tradition of producing Ports with precision and character, using grapes from the finest Douro Valley vineyards.
Production
Crafted from a selection of red grapes including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cão, and Tinta Roriz, the wine is aged in small oak casks of around 630 litres. Over time, the ruby-red youthful colour gradually softens to a warm tawny hue, while the palate develops smooth, mellow flavours and increasingly complex aromas of nuts and dried fruits.
Tasting Notes
Rich tawny colour with golden highlights. The nose shows complex aromas of damson jam, raisins, toasted nuts, and ripe red fruits. On the palate, the wine is smooth and rounded, with caramel notes beautifully balanced by fresh acidity, giving excellent length and depth. Food match Enjoy at room temperature or slightly chilled. Pairs beautifully with toasted almonds, walnuts, dark chocolate, berries, and blue-veined cheeses. No need to decant; once opened, it will remain fresh for 2–3 months. Grape Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
