Héritage de Chasse-Spleen is a refined red Bordeaux from the Haut-Médoc appellation, crafted by the historic estate of Chasse-Spleen. The wine reflects the estate’s long history of careful vineyard management and selection, combining plots across several PDOs to produce a harmonious expression of the Médoc terroir. It embodies elegance, balance, and approachable finesse, carrying forward the care and tradition of its senior estate while offering a wine suitable for broader markets.

Vineyards

The wine is produced from approximately 20 hectares of Haut-Médoc vineyards, planted on sandy gravel over chalky clay and clay on chalk soils. Vines are planted at a density of 8,300 vines per hectare and range in age from 5 to 35 years. The vineyards are carefully tended to ensure optimal ripening and healthy, balanced fruit.

Winemaking

Harvested at optimal ripeness, the grapes—primarily Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot—are vinified in stainless steel vats and concrete tanks with terminal regulation systems. The wine is aged in wood, with 5% new oak, allowing integration of subtle spice and texture while preserving the wine’s pure fruit expression.

Tasting Notes

Héritage de Chasse-Spleen displays a brilliant deep burgundy colour. The nose is balanced and expressive, with aromas of redcurrant, black cherry, and a hint of spice. On the palate, the wine is supple and elegant, with fine tannins and a clean, harmonious volume. The finish is persistent, with vibrant red fruit and lingering freshness. Enjoy with Pairs beautifully with roast lamb, grilled beef, game dishes, and well-matured cheeses. Grape Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
