The wine

La Mascota Unanime 2022 Wine (75cl) is recorded as a 2022 other wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec in Mendoza, Argentina.

Typical grape profile: Cabernet Sauvignon — Blackcurrant, cedar, graphite; ages well, especially in Bordeaux blends; Malbec — Dark plum, blackberry, cocoa; softer tannins than Cabernet, especially from Argentina. The finished bottle can differ with vintage and winemaking.

Cellar for 15 years or more. Decant for up to an hour before serving Unánime by Mascota Vineyards is a vivid ruby red in the glass, exploding with scents of plum, red cherry, and hints of desiccated coconut. It is notably New World in character, with rich, ripe flavours and a big, bouncy texture. It is composed of 100% Malbec grapes, harvested from Uco Valley, in the Mendoza region of Argentina. The face and founder of Mascota Vineyards is Rodolfo “Opi” Sadler, an Argentine wine-making trailblazer who has received wide renown for his Cabernet Sauvignon. However, Argentina is the country of Malbec, and Sadler does not disappoint in that domain either - his Malbec won a gold medal at the Argentina Wine Awards in 2015. La Mascota’s Unánime Malbec was sourced from Uco Valley, a high-altitude region fuelled by meltwater from the Andes Mountains. It is packed with lush, New World fruits, combining a subtle sweetness with fine, structural tannins. Look for flavours of cherry, blackcurrant leaf, plum jam and cocoa, with careful hints of liquorice, vanilla and minerality. Its wholesome fruit notes have depth and nuance, leading into a long, satisfying finish. An unbeatable expression of Argentinian Malbec. Consider pairing it with a full-bodied steak, pungent, creamy cheeses or any piece of meat fresh off the grill.
