A fresh and full-bodied champagne with balance and finesse. Elegant with ample citrus fruit flavours and aromas. This 100% Chardonnay (Blanc de Blancs) has been beautifully crafted using the very best Grand Cru grapes from A and La Cte des Blancs. Producer Details Champagne Lallier are a small family concern crafting Pinot Noir blends from their own (and some specially selected other) 'Grand Cru' vineyards in Ay - also home to Bollinger but Lallier's cellars are older, Avize, and Cramant. Classified as 100 out of 100, 'Grand Cru' vineyards are the crme de la crme of vineyard sites. Like Bollinger, Lallier's wines use a high proportion of Pinot Noir in their blends (the Ros is 100% Pinot Noir), so with Champagne Lallier you get a Pinot Noir dominated blend from Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites - a rarity. In the Vineyard The house of Lallier specialises in producing champagnes by sourcing exclusively from vineyards officially classified Grand Cru and Premier Cru. 2/3 of this 100% Chardonnay wine is comprised of an assemblage of grapes sourced from A with the third sourced from La Cte des Blancs. In the Winery The provenance of the grapes enables a low dosage to express the purity and the richness of these terroirs. With a dosage of 8g/L, the bottles are matured on their lees in chalk cellars for 36 -48 months. The wine is then left to rest for 3 - 5 months between disgorgement and shipping. Press Quotes NV: "Sweet barley sugar aromas with smoky cream on the palate. Fluffy mousse with lemony finish." Decanter 'The Results' edition, October 2011

Evidence boundary

This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
