Marc Brédif Vouvray Chenin Blanc is a refined expression of Loire Valley Chenin Blanc, sourced from the estate vineyards in Vouvray and Vernou-sur-Brenne. The vines, averaging 20–25 years old, grow on chalky-clay soils along the first slopes above the river, with additional grapes sourced from trusted local growers. Yields are strictly limited to no more than 50hl/ha, ensuring concentration and quality. Vineyard and harvest Grapes are harvested by hand or machine, depending on the site, and transported swiftly to the winery to avoid oxidation. Each vineyard parcel is vinified separately to preserve its unique character. Vinification The grapes are gently pressed using pneumatic methods to avoid harshness from pips and skins. The juice is cold-settled for 18–24 hours before undergoing slow fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled 18°C, sometimes lasting up to two months. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to glass-lined vats and kept in contact with its lees for up to nine months, imparting body, texture, and depth. No oak aging is used at any stage. On bottling, the wine has around 12.5% alcohol and a residual sugar of approximately 12 g/L, placing it in the off-dry category.
Production
is around 15,000 cases per year.
Tasting Notes
This Vouvray Chenin Blanc displays a bright pale-golden colour. The nose shows intense aromas of peach and apricot, layered with the characteristic subtle, almost woolly scent of great Loire Chenin Blanc. The palate reveals bracing acidity balanced by rich, rounded fruit, with hints of herbs adding complexity. The slight residual sugar integrates naturally, creating an elegant, harmonious wine.
Evidence boundary
This page combines the recorded bottle identity with linked source records. An exact region-name match supplies regional context but does not prove that this bottle carries the protected designation. A vineyard is only shown as bottle-level evidence when a wine-to-vineyard link exists. BottlePicker does not infer a vineyard, soil or site climate from a retailer title.
