The description below is the retailer’s own wording.

This sparkling wine from the Maremma is made exclusively from Vermentino grapes using the ‘long’ Charmat method, where the second fermentation in sealed tanks lasts longer, lending the cuvée greater complexity. With a Brut dosage, Tenuta Moraia’s Spumante Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC is enlivened by the maritime influences of the Tuscan coastline, bordering the Tyrrhenian Sea. On the nose, tropical notes of guava and pineapple mingle with aromatic herbs such as aniseed and sage, whilst a hint of citrus and a subtle spicy note round off the profile. On the palate, the creamy mousse and fine effervescence carry a fresh and expressive structure, where salty and mineral nuances come through on the finish, which is beautifully rich. A delightful wine as an aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with seafood and shellfish, baked fish, sushi and vegetables, whether raw or cooked.
